Emotion

Emotion is a mental reaction to your surroundings and a certain situation. Emotion can be influenced by many factors, one of the main ones, can be the person you are with or any type of stimulus. It involves a physiological arousal, expressive behaviors and conscious experience.

Emotion can be your body reacting to external situations or the awareness of our physiological responses to emotion arousing stimuli. Arousal spurs emotion but cognition directs it. Emotions actually kick in even before cognition, with CrashCourse saying that if you hear some sort of crash outside your window, you would immediately react and feel startled, yo wouldn't ask yourself or have the time to think "What was that noise? should i feel startled?".

Emotions in a person's face can be shown by the position of certain parts of their face, like how big their eyes are open or closed, if the mouth if stretched, open or closed or the movement of the eyebrows. Some of the emotions shown in the PowerPoint involve the state of being in shock, surprised, happy, disappointment, disgusted and sadness. How I can tell these emotions is in the way of previous experiences in people making these faces corresponding to a certain situation or affected by a certain person or environment. Some of the ways of knowing which connect and influence emotions include memory and imagination which allow a person to look back and connect certain things to something you are feeling yourself or looking at from another person.

The James-Lange theory describes how it is a physiological reaction to a certain event which allows an emotion to happen. The way you interpret this physiological reaction will be the certain emotion the person is feeling. An example of this theory would be how if you encounter a bear in the wild, your heart rate would probably increase and you might feel some chills or trembling which would lead to the conclusion that the emotion you are feeling is fright.

Art can trigger emotions in the audience with factors such as different shapes, colors and patterns having an effect. This can also trigger emotions by relating back to memory and imagination, by linking back to previous experiences.

Emotions and feelings are essential in and do have a rational basis, this is because the choices we make in life, we make while considering different factors, and with reason. Whether it is by being influenced by a danger factor or an attachment to something that will influence you to make a certain choice.

There are no correct or appropriate emotional responses to a certain situation, this is because not everyone is the same or acts the same way. People react to certain things differently whether is fear, sadness, grief or happiness. Some people can be more emotionally sensitive therefore show more than others. Emotional responses can definitely be affected by the environment around them and their previous experiences, and therefore react differently to a certain situation.

The meaning of language can vary, but very broadly it can be described as a way of communicating and/or expressing yourself. Therefore, all emotions or feelings are expressed in some way, by some kind of movement, reaction or thought. Emotions can be shaped by language, as it is one of the way of expressing yourself, you transform your feelings into words.

People can be responsible of their own emotions by controlling them and not letting cultural and environmental factors affect the way you would express yourself. Emotions cannot be described as good or bad but they can be a result of a certain situation in which one would express her/himself accordingly.Other people can influence the way a person feels and trick them into believing they feel a certain way.

Creativity cannot be present when not having emotions, this is because when you are creative in the way of arts, photography or just in normal ideas, you are inspired by something and you would feel some kind of connection to make you want to do a certain thing, resulting in being creative.

Emotion can affect your knowledge in  making you feel a certain way and assume something that might not necessarily be true.
