In my role for this presentation, I stated a counter claim in where I described how one can use emotion to justify the value of art, the viewer creating an emotional connection with the artwork, increasing the sentimental value on the product. To defend the real life example, I argued that an educational background on arts, even though not always needed, helped to really have a deeper understanding with the artist's intention on their work. So once one can view the image in depth, it can reveal numerous things which would tempt one to buy that artwork.
The presentation was planned following the structure assigned while separating the work in two
-Student A introduce the topic, explains the interest and link to RLS (1 minute)
-Student B state, explains and justify the 1st claim (for about 2 minutes)
-Student A counterclaims with another WOK, again explains and justify (2 minutes).
-Student B summarises and take a position, clearly answering the KQ. Take a firm stand. (2 minutes)
-Student A identify at least another RLS that falls under the same KQ. (1 minute)
-Student B explains the implications of the RLS. (1 minute)
Final conclusion. (about 1 minute)
Overall, the presentation was successful as the structure was followed and explained in detail while showing both ways of knowing, area of knowledge, numerous real life examples and the implications with putting a certain value on art. Some improvements that could have been made in this presentation would been limiting the use of the notes for the presentation while also having a better interaction with the audience, being more connected while having eye contact.
